ESK talks to Renata Facchini, CEO of Liquido Active about how she empowers her staff, her inspirations and why Liquido Active is a Be Conscious brand.
Please could you talk us through your journey from yogi to CEO of Liquid Active?
It’s definitely been a journey, one that I never dreamed of! It’s been amazing, challenging for sure but super rewarding. I love what I do, and I love the impact on people’s lives.
 
How do you think your upbringing and previous experience in hospitality influenced your journey?
Hospitality teaches you how to treat people, understand their expectations and deal with their frustrations. Amazing skills when dealing with customers!
 
Was there a particular moment or event when you realized just how successful Liquido Active was going to be?
Yes, when we couldn’t keep our pants on the shelves!
 
You describe Liquido Active as a company ‘For women, made by women that want to empower women to be the best they can be’, why is this important to you?
Because I know how much harder I had to fight to get where I am, unfortunately we still live in a world where men get paid more and women are a liability because we might choose to have a child.

As a female CEO of a predominantly female staffed company, how do you empower your employees?
By example, I think that’s always the best way to influence everyone around you.
 
What are the biggest challenges you’ve faced with Liquido Active to date, and how did you meet that challenge(s)? What did it teach you?
Well, by far the pandemic! It taught me that sometimes things really are out of our hands.
 
Who or what would you say most inspires you in your life and work?
My family for sure, they are my rock.
 
What’s your proudest moment to date (work related or not)?
Giving birth to my baby daughter

Do you have a favorite quote or phrase or belief that serves as a personal motto?
YES, it’s a little long but so worth it:
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. You playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. In your opinion why do you think women wearing activewear is no longer just limited to the gym?
Because it’s comfortable and looks great!
 
What influences the print designs of Liquido Active?
Nature and places I want to visit, two of my biggest passions.

Liquido Active are known for their collaborations, how do you decide who you collaborate with and what do you gain from collaborating?
We love collabs!! LOL!!! I think it needs to be aligned with our values and vibe. If someone meets that criteria, we are ON!!
 
Consciousness and sustainability are at the forefront of EvolutionSK’s brand DNA, similarly to how respect for human beings, as well as respect for the planet are part of Liquido Active’s DNA. Please could you tell us about the key practices that Liquido Active follows with regards to your commitment to sustainability?
We think about the enrolment 360, from the little everyday practices to major decisions. We have banned plastic from our chain of production, 99% of our fabric is biodegradable and our latest campaign is about planting trees at the Amazon Forrest among so many others.
